Free Strawberry Fundraiser for Mind (a charity for better mental health)

Local Charities

We are keen to work with our local community to fund raise. We regularly donate, support and run competitions with local schools and charities. We are also proud of our work with Chef’s Adopt a School and the Country Side Classroom supporting food eduction in schools. If you want to get in touch please do so by email at info@secretts.co.uk. We prefer to work with local schools and charities and will always give preference to these for Christmas Fairs and Summer events.

Here are some of the larger projects we have been involved with in 2018!

Hunter Centre Haselmere

When we decided to run a series of wreath making events before Christmas with florist Felicity Sturge we agreed that a proportion of the profits would go to a local charity. Felicity asked for the donation to be made to the Hunter Centre in Haselmere. This is a day centre for those suffering from Dementia and was the former home of the Alzheimers Society. When they closed down the centre a few years ago Elaine Clements who ran the centre for them stayed put with support from the local community and the Hunter Centre was created. They provide a much needed support group for Dementia sufferers and their carers with activities, meals and days out. We were delighted to present a cheque to them for £500 on the 18th December in good time for Christmas. In the picture bottom right is Thamar from Secretts who organised the events with Felicity (centre) and the centre Manager Elaine Clements.

Please note that this year (2019) we will not be offering wreath making classes)

Carrier Bag Design autumn 2018

In the autumn term of 2018 we ran a competition with Busbridge Infant School for pupils to create a design for our Christmas reusable carrier bag. We loved the designs the children did for us and it was tough choosing a winner. Viv the farm shop manager and the team picked the entry by Freddie Holliday shown here with Greg Secrett our current MD. We presented Freddie with a bag of Secretts goodies at our Christmas Preview evening on the 22nd November. We printed 300 bags and for every bag sold we will give the school £1 for their PTA fund.

Carrier Bag Design summer 2018

In summer term of 2018 we ran a competition with Milford Infants School for pupils to create a design for a reusable carrier bag.  We were really delighted to present our winner Fife Angas with one of the bags he designed filled with goodies from the farm shop. We printed 300 bags and have sold over a third already. The bags are £2.45p each and available from the till at the farm shop. For every bag we sell £1 will go back to the schools PTA. We are hoping that by the time the children start the autumn term we will be ready to present the school with a cheque. If you would like to support this worthwhile cause buy a bag at the till next time you visit the farm shop.

Here is Fife being presented with his goody bag from our current MD Greg Secretts. Greg said “It is lovely as a community focussed business to be able to work with local residents who are also our customers to support worthwhile causes”.
